    Tax Incentives for Film - Ohio and Kentucky

    OHIO
    Refundable credit - 25% of state production spend except resident cast/crew; 35% for Ohio resident cast and crew.

    Budget must be minimum floor of $300k - max ceiling of $20m (or $5m per project pay out).

    State has total of $20m payout allowance for 2011 fiscal year (July 1, 2010 - June 30, 2011) .

    Application fee: 0.5% of estimated value of credit.

    Project types: Talk shows*, reality shows*, game shows*, documentaries, webisodes*, animation*, commercials, music videos, interactive/video games.

    KENTUCKY
    Refundable credit - 20% of expenditures and payroll

    Budget must be minimum floor of $50k (depending on project types) - no ceiling for budget payout.

    Project types:
    $50k floor Documentary; $200k Commercial; $500k Feature length motion picture.
    Talk shows, reality shows, game shows, documentaries, webisodes, animation, commercials, music videos, interactive/video games.
